Frequently Asked Questions

How much do business accountants charge?
Most of our limited-company clients pay a fixed monthly fee that bundles statutory accounts, corporation tax, director's self-assessment, payroll and unlimited ad-hoc questions. Typical fees start from around £100–£150 per month for a small company and scale with complexity. Everything is quoted upfront before any work starts and the initial consultation is free.
Can you help me switch from my current accountant?
Yes — we handle the whole switch for you. We write the professional clearance letter to your existing accountant, collect the records and login credentials, and bring your books across to our systems. Most switches are complete within one to two weeks with no disruption.
Which accounting software do you support?
We're certified partners with Xero, QuickBooks and FreeAgent, and we use Dext for bookkeeping automation. If you already use one, we'll fit in; if not, we'll recommend the right platform for your business.
Do you support R&D tax relief claims?
Yes. We prepare R&D tax relief claims for qualifying innovative companies, including the new merged scheme. We'll tell you honestly upfront whether your activities are likely to qualify before any work starts.
Can you act for businesses outside Kent?
Yes — about half our business clients are in Kent, the rest are across the UK. Modern cloud accounting, video calls and secure document sharing mean location is no barrier. You're always welcome to visit our Rochester office.
What's included in a fixed monthly fee?
Usually: statutory accounts, corporation tax return, director's self-assessment, payroll for a small team, VAT returns, Confirmation Statement filing, and unlimited ad-hoc questions by phone or email. We tailor the bundle to your business so you only pay for what you need.
